ColorGlow Impressions mats can be cleaned in several different ways:
Commercial Laundering:
- Launder the mats (refer to Laundering Instructions).
Regular Vacuuming:
- Daily in high-traffic areas.
- Weekly in lower-traffic applications.
Heavy Soil Removal:
- Clean with an extractor or hose off as necessary to remove heavy soil.
Drying:
- Hang the mats to dry completely.
- Mats should always be dry before they are placed back in service.
Commercial Laundering for ColorGlow Impressions mats backed with nitrile rubber:
- Proper laundering will prolong the life of the mat by preventing the buildup of soil and soap residue.
- ColorStar Impressions mats are manufactured using PET Yarn. PET is a type of polyester that requires proper chemical processing for optimal cleaning.
- PET yarn tends to retain oils when exposed to them.
Laundering Process:
- Detergent Mix:
Start with 2 oz. of detergent per cwt., 1 oz. of alkali per cwt, and 4 oz. of hydrogen peroxide. The exact chemicals required will depend on the type of accounts you service. Consult your chemical supplier for further guidance.
Laundering Steps:
- Flush: 2-3 minutes, medium water level, 120°F (49°C).
- Optional Flush: Another 2-3 minutes, medium water level, 120°F (49°C).
- Break: 5-10 minutes, high water level, 120°F (49°C).
- Rinse: 2 minutes, high water level, cold.
- Rinse: Another 2 minutes, high water level, cold.
- Extract (Low Speed): 1-2 minutes.
- Shake Out: Rotate the wheel at wash speed with the drain open for 1 minute.
- Extract (High Speed): 3-5 minutes at maximum 250 Gs.
- Dry: 5-10 minutes at a basket temperature of 180°F (82°C).
- Cool Down: 5 minutes.
- Post-Wash Handling: Lay mats flat following removal from the washer or dryer and allow them to cool before rolling.
For Heavy Soil Mats:
- Increase the wash temperature to a maximum of 140°F (60°C).
- The break should not exceed a pH of 9.5; use low pH non-ionic detergents.
- Do not over-dry mats; the dryer basket temperature should not exceed 180°F (82°C).
- If mats are not dried, increase the final rinse temperature to 140°F (60°C) to reduce moisture retention following extraction.
