ColorStar Impressions Mats with Nitrile Rubber Backing – Laundering Guidelines
Proper laundering helps prolong the mat’s life by preventing the buildup of soil and soap residue. The mats are made using PET Yarn (a type of polyester) that retains oils if not processed correctly.
Recommended Laundering Procedure
Detergent and Chemicals:
Start with:
- 2 oz. of detergent per cwt.
- 1 oz. of alkali per cwt.
- 4 oz. of hydrogen peroxide.
Adjust chemical levels based on the type of accounts you service.
Consult with your chemical supplier for additional questions or concerns.
Laundering Steps:
- Flush: 2-3 minutes, medium water level, 120°F (49°C).
- Flush (Optional): 2-3 minutes, medium water level, 120°F (49°C).
- Break: 5-10 minutes, high water level, 120°F (49°C).
- Rinse: 2 minutes, high water level, cold.
- Rinse: 2 minutes, high water level, cold.
- Extract (Low Speed): 1-2 minutes.
- Shake Out: Rotate wheel at wash speed with drain open for 1 minute.
- Extract (High Speed Max – 250 Gs): 3-5 minutes.
- Dry: 5-10 minutes, 180°F (82°C) basket temperature.
- Cool Down: 5 minutes.
Post-Laundering:
- Lay mats flat following removal from the washer or dryer.
- Allow to cool before rolling.
For Heavy Soil Mats:
- Increase temperature to a maximum of 140°F (60°C).
- Ensure break pH does not exceed 9.5; use low pH non-ionic detergents.
- Do not over-dry mats; dryer basket temperature should not exceed 180°F (82°C).
- If mats are not dried, increase the final rinse temperature to 140°F (60°C) to reduce moisture retention following extraction.
