Velvet Mat Cleaning Instructions
Velvet mats can be cleaned through commercial laundering (refer to specific laundering instructions) or by using the following methods:
1. Vacuuming
- Regularly vacuum the mat to remove dirt and debris.
- High-Traffic Areas: Daily vacuuming is recommended.
- Lower-Traffic Areas: Weekly vacuuming is sufficient.
2. Extraction or Hosing
- Extract or hose off the mat as necessary to remove heavy soil and debris.
3. Drying
- Hang the mat to dry completely.
- Important: Ensure the mat is fully dry before putting it back into use.
- Commercial Laundering for Velvet Mats with Nitrile Rubber Backing
- Velvet mats with nitrile rubber backing can be commercially laundered to extend their lifespan by preventing the buildup of soil and soap residue.
- For mats with heavy soil, set the washing temperature to a maximum of 140°F (60°C). Ensure that the break pH does not exceed 9.5, and use low pH non-ionic detergents.
4.Laundering Process
Flush:
- 2-3 minutes at medium water level, 120°F (49°C).
Optional Flush:
- 2-3 minutes at medium water level, 120°F (49°C).
Break:
- 2-3 minutes at high water level, 120°F (49°C).
Rinse:
- 2 minutes at high water level, cold water.
Rinse:
- 2 minutes at high water level, cold water.
Extract:
- 1-2 minutes at low speed.
Shake Out:
- 1 minute (rotate wheel at wash speed with the drain open).
Extract:
- 3-5 minutes at low speed.
Dry:
- 5-10 minutes at a basket temperature of 180°F (82°C).
Cool Down:
5.Post-Washing Care
Cooling:
- After washing or drying, lay the mats flat to cool before rolling.
- Avoid Over-Drying:
- The basket temperature of the dryer should not exceed 180°F (82°C). If the mats are not fully dried, increase the final rinse temperature to 140°F (60°C) to reduce moisture retention after extraction.
